Change the Login Window setting to enable "Hide the user list".The Answer - To do what I want and change the Linux Mint Login to a single window with user-supplied username and password fields, you must set the system to hide the username display : Next, TuxBot gave me another procedure that did not work.Besides, we already established that adding the configuration line, "greeter-session=lightdm-slick-greeter" prevents a login window from appearing on the screen after reboot.
